Featuring Textile Designers

Featuring textile designers seemed only fitting when I tell you I LOVE what these talented artist create and the process that goes into textile design.  So, I’ll be sharing two today and another two talented artist and designers next week.

Be sure to follow those featured!

I’m totally a kid in a candy store when it comes to fabric stores/showrooms. The process behind the beautiful textiles begins with a very talented artist.

Artist and designer Rebecca Atwood shares her latest collections as well as sketches in progress on her blog, here. Be sure to check our her shop too. I absolutely love her line and hope to use it in a future project!

A piece of artwork that is then seen on pillows, window treatments, wall coverings, or table linens is just amazing to me. A great example of the full process from art to textile can be seen by following Designers Guild and its founder, artist, and designer Tricia Guild.

I love their use of scale in patterns and color combinations and am inspired watching how Tricia Guild and her team pull it all together for a completed designed line.

Tricia starts with inspiration that then gets turned into the beginnings of a mood board. See a glimpse into the world of Designers Guild by watching this video with Tricia, here.

AMAZING artist, designers, creators, style setters–inspiration overload!

Decorate with Sculptural Elements

I’ve been seeing more and more spheres and sculptural decorations used in décor and found in some of my favorite shops. It’s a simple decorative item to add to a bookshelf, or place on top of a stack of books styling your coffee table.

I came across these fun options at westelm.com.  Which one is your favorite?

and these beauties at Plantation (plantationdesign.com) I’m loving the white ceramic ones too!

Simply Savvy Product Pick:: Organize with Style

There are times {lots of them} when the organizing solution you choose needs to have style–containers can either enhance or take away from a space.

When I come across an item that I just need someone to have I begin to ask myself, who can benefit from these? for what purpose? and how many? This was one of those moments where I unexpectedly came across the perfect solution for a client.

Have you seen the Threshold brand at Target? They have some lovely decorative items. I’m sharing this find with a client that needs a few bins for an open shelf in their closet.  The look and the feel of these is really great.

Have you found an item that gets you organizing with style? We’d all love to know. Love the space you’re in!

Simply Savvy Quick Fix:: Update a Sofa with Color, Texture, and Pattern

A simple way to update your sofa with a seasonal touch is by adding a blanket or throw. You can check your list for color, pattern, texture, by selecting a throw that has it all. I cam across these Lands’ End blankets and loved the variety of options. You get to “find your cozy factor” by selecting the warmth level you need. That’s very clever. You can find these and many more {here}.

Throws can transform the look of a sofa. Try mixing it up and place it in the center like this stylish example.

The next step is to add a punch with pillows. Play up the patterns and textures to coordinate with your throw and your sofa will have a new look and new life this season.

I hope you’re enjoying the cooler weather. It’s that time of year where we begin to nest more in our homes so why not add a fresh, simple touch to your room that’s cozy. Love the space you’re in!
